2002-2002

2002

A committee was formed early in the year to consider refurbishing the church kitchen, with a donation of $3,000 as a start.

Our church became one of many local churches sponsoring the James Dobson Focus on the Family tv spots on WHIZ-TV.

Pastor Kudart came to our aid on a Sunday in February when Pastor Lingsch lost his voice.

A special Voter's assembly was held at 5pm on March 17th, to vote on who to give a call to as Senior Pastor, with Pastor Keith Lingsch and Pastor Michael McFarland as the nominees. 98 Votes were cast for Pastor Lingsch, and 44 votes were passed for Pastor McFarland. As a show of support for Pastor Lingsch, a rising oral vote made the election unanimous. Pastor Dueker, our Circuit Counselor, was present for the meeting.

The Greater Zanesville Singers sang at our last Lenten Service.

Pastor Lingsch announced his decision in April to accept the Call to be our Senior Pastor. The same call committee that had just finished their duty in helping choose a Senior Pastor was commissioned to use the same procedures in finding a new Associate/Assistant Pastor. Meanwhile we were informed in April that we were not going to recieve a Vicar in the fall.

It was decided in April that a New Fire Alarm system needed to be installed for $8,670.

In May, nominations for an Associate Pastor were closed.

Pastor Allen Wolka conducted a service in June while Pastor Lingsch and his wife were on vacation.

Pastor Lingsch's installation service was held on June 9th, with a reception held by our Ladie's Aid.

Near the end of June we were notified that things had changed and we would receive a Vicar by the name of James Eggert, albeit sooner than normal.

We installed a new Fire Alarm System.

More Congregational Listening Events were held to help people understand the process and progress of a proposed Christian School and Pre-School.

In late July we welcomed James Eggert, our first Vicar in nearly seven years, and his wife Liz.

A kitchen remodeling report estimated the cost to be $69,249.

New Carpeting and drapes were installed in two of the church offices during the month of September.

Our Children's Chime choir and the adult Handbell Choir bothplayed at the Colony Square Mall for their "Holiday Kick-Off."

Martha Lestock made and donated a beautiful tree-skirt for our church Christmas Tree.
