1997100 new hymnals were placed into the church.The Voter's Assembly by a 30-15 vote, approved air conditioning our church sanctuary for $200,000 and approved $7600 for stained glass window repair. Our pipe organ leathers were repaired and the Parish Hall organ was moved into the church for 6 weeks. New Pictorial Directories arrived in January. Pastor Kudart gave the keynote presentation at the Rosecrans High School All School Spiritual Retreat. Pastor Kudart was one of six Missouri Synod Lutheran Pastors who visited our missionary work in India for 10 days in February. The Ladies Aid purchased a new refrigerator for the church kitchen and the old one was placed down in the recreation room. Our 6 Home Study Bible Groups began meeting. Our church was one of the historic downtown churches that was on the Zanesville and Muskingum County Bicentennial Lecture Tour in March. A new Sharp Copier was purchased for $2500. Our church Volleyball team won 1st place in the Salvation Army Church Volleyball League. Pastor Kudart had Memorial Day services at both Woodlawn and Greenwood Cemeteries. We sponsored a food booth at the Gus Macker Tournament. In August, we bid farewell to Vicar Matzke and welcomed Vicar Grether and his wife Tonya. The Y-City Barbershop Chorus sang at one of our services. In October, the Voter's Assembly resolved to Call Seminarian Mark Matzke as an Assistant Pastor. Missionary Mike Nicol was our Mission Sunday guest speaker in November. He was organizing a new congregation in Clarksburg, West Virginia. In December, Trinity Church prints, T-Shirts, and Sweatshirts went on sale. The outline of our church and teh church name contained our 700 church families' last names. |
